Twitch: Amouranth vs. police not protecting streamers from stalkers

27.06.2022 105

Top Twitch streamer Kaitlyn 'Amouranth' Siragusa has lashed out at police for underestimating the problem of stalkers. Her criticism stems from her intervention against one of her stalkers, who tried to break into her home.

For weeks Amouranth was stalked by a stalker from Estonia. When the man tried to force his way into her home, it took the police thirty-three minutes to intervene and arrest him.

The streamer did not take it very well and recounted how one of the police officers underestimated the problem, stating that cyber stalkers do not pose a real threat. Given her prominent position on the streamer scene, she therefore decided to return to the subject to make it public so as to protect fellow female streamers.

Apparently the streamer has been contacted by members of the local government to talk about the incident and hopes to bring the issue to the political level to give it the attention it deserves.
