Replaced postponed, Xbox exclusive won't arrive until 2023

Replaced, the interesting action adventure developed by Sad Cat Studios as an Xbox exclusive, has been postponed: the game will not make it to release before 2023, and the authors have written a message explaining the reasons for this decision.

Considered one of the surprises of E3 2021, Replaced has encountered great difficulties due to the fact that the studio making it is composed of Belarusian and Ukrainian developers, and the events of the past few months have been quite difficult.

"Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine had a heavy impact on the development of Replaced, as most of the authors live in areas close to the conflict. Sad Cat's priority, however, is the safety of the team and their families, which is why production was relocated and only recently did work begin again."

"Publisher Coatsink, parent company Thunderful and development team Sad Cat Studios have therefore decided to move the release window to 2023 to ensure that the game can make its debut under the best possible conditions."

"We are continuing to work hard to bring you the quality you expect after the trailer, but at the same time we are trying to prioritize the physical and mental health of the authors, without forcing original deadlines that were bound to be compromised."

A similar situation is also affecting Mundfish, the team behind Atomic Heart, which left Moscow and resumed work on the game.
