According to information shared by a leaker, Mortal Kombat 12 could be released in 2023 and among the playable characters, there will also be Reiko, which then will make his return after more than ten years of absence from the roster of the various games in the series of fighting NetherRealm Studios.
The indiscretion was launched by "r00r", a leaker rather known that at the time of Mortal Kombat 11 had revealed in advance many details and content leaving clues here and there on various social. This time the deep throat is simply limited to stating that "Reiko is back" and adding "see you next year".

Many have interpreted this to mean that Mortal Kombat 12 will be played by Reiko, and that the game will be released in 2023. Obviously, this is unofficial information that should be taken with a degree of incredulity, but as mentioned earlier, "r00r" has a track record of getting the facts right, which should not be underestimated.
Reiko, for those who don't know, first appeared in Mortal Kombat 4 in 1997. He has made cameos in subsequent games, but the last time he was a playable character was in 2006's Mortal Kombat: Armaggedon. In short, this could be a welcome return.
Mortal Kombat 12 has yet to be officially announced, but a NetherRealm Studios developer may have mistakenly unveiled it ahead of the studio's schedule.
