Final Fantasy 16 is playable to the end: it is "a roller coaster of story and action"

Final Fantasy XVI - State of Play June 2022 Dominance Trailer | PS5 Games

Final Fantasy 16 was not present at the Tokyo Game Show, but this does not mean that Square Enix was not present at the event. More to the point, Naoki Yoshida - producer - was honored at the Japan Game Awards 2022 for the "Future" category and revealed something about the game, explaining that it is already playable and is a roller coaster of story and action.

Yoshida confirmed that he has played through to the final Final Fantasy 16 in the first person: this means that the structure of the game and its main components are well or poorly ready. According to his (obviously biased) experience, this is a "roller coaster" that will offer a lot of action and a lot of plot: the hope then is that it will be a game balanced in its components.

Since this is an even more action-focused game than Final Fantasy 15 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, some of the saga's historical audience may not appreciate this drift and especially may not have the manual skills to play such a work. Such players will therefore be happy to know that Yoshida has reconfirmed that the developers have spent a lot of time and money to introduce mechanics in Final Fantasy 16 that will allow those who are not good at action games to play anyway.

Also, recall that Final Fantasy 16 will not be an open-world game, unlike Final Fantasy 15. In a previous interview, Yoshida had said that it is not possible to create an open-world game, not divided into multiple chapters and of high quality without taking too long and without an infinite budget.

Final Fantasy 16 will arrive in summer 2023 on PS5. A trailer may be shown next month, per Yoshida.
