ELDEN RING - Gameplay Preview

The latest NPD sales data certified Elden Ring's supremacy as the best-selling game in the U.S. over the past 12 months, with confirmation of its overtaking Call of Duty: Vanguard, a truly historic achievement for the FromSoftware game.

As we have seen, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the best-selling LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in the U.S. as of April 2022, but here we focus on the total sales scored by Elden Ring, which is resounding.

Just in the past few days the number of units distributed in the first month emerged, with the impressive figure of 13.4 million units worldwide, but it is remarkable to consider its success in the U.S. from this point of view as well.

With the data updated for the last month, Elden Ring is the best-selling title in the U.S. market for the past 12 months, and surpassing Call of Duty: Vanguard is a remarkable achievement considering that the series has consistently remained the title holder in recent years.

In fact, it has been since 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that, every year, it has been a Call of Duty that has been the best-selling game over the year in the U.S. So Elden Ring breaks a 13-year dynasty. On the other hand, we saw how Call of Duty: Vanguard was not considered a great success by Activision, which also blamed World War II as a setting now endowed with little audience appeal.
