Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick re-elected despite controversy

23.06.2022 176

Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard, has been re-elected to the company's board of directors for another year, despite the controversy surrounding his figure due to accusations against him on more than one occasion.

Kotick, who earned $185 million from 2019 to 2021, thus appears to be truly immovable for the company-an unprecedented situation, given that there are so many other examples of executives removed for less egregious reasons.

As reported last November, it emerged that Bobby Kotick had known about sexual harassment at Activision for years and had allegedly committed it himself: very serious allegations that caused an internal earthquake but without the CEO paying the price.

In any case, in conjunction with Kotick's re-election, Activision Blizzard's investors approved the drafting of a document that would go over the company's efforts to date on anti-discrimination and harassment.

This is still a very delicate situation, given also that Microsoft and Activision have not yet officially determined Bobby Kotick's fate after the completion of the acquisition.
